Bottle Release For The Week Of July 19!

This coming Weds., July 19, we're pleased to release a new batch of our dark Farmstead® ale, Edith!

Edith (1897-1992) was our grandfather’s sister, and Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to her and her 13 siblings. In her honor, this dark Farmstead® ale is crafted from American malted barley, German roasted malts, European hops, our farmhouse yeast, and water from our well. The result is a complex yet approachable melange of light roast flavors combined with a refreshing, elegant tartness, characteristic of our Farmstead® ales. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Edith.

Please visit our bottle release page, http://hillfarmstead.com/bottle-release, for bottle limits and pricing information.

Bottle Release For The Week Of July 12!

This coming Weds., July 12, we're excited to premiere Mary in 500ml bottles!

Mary (1875-1963) was Edward’s mother and our great-grandmother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to her and her many children. In her honor, we brew this German-style pilsner with German pilsner malt, our favorite German hops, classic German lager yeast and water from our well. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, this is the lager that I dream to have shared with Mary.

Keep cold, drink fresh!

Please visit our bottle release page, http://hillfarmstead.com/bottle-release, for bottle limits and pricing information.

Also on Weds., in our bottle shop during normal retail hours, we'll release a final block of tickets for our August 5th Festival of Farmhouse Ales 2017! A set amount of tickets will be made available each day this week, Weds. through Saturday. Complete information for the event can be found at www.hillfarmstead.com/fofa.

Bottle Release and Special Note for the Week of July 4, 2017

In honor of the holiday, we will be OPEN this coming Tuesday, July 4th! Stop by during our normal hours, 12 - 5 p.m., for some celebratory treats, including a fresh batch of Ephraim, our imperial IPA!

We'll also release a fresh, new batch of Grassroots Brewing Convivial Suaréz in our retail shop.

An homage to our 2012 brew day at La Brasserie Fantôme in Soy, Belgium, and named in honor of the trip’s wonderful convivial spirit, this is a Farmstead® ale brewed with hibiscus, lemon and wheat. This ale embodies the spirit of perpetual collaboration in conjunction with disciplined brewing endeavor.

Bottle Release For The Week Of June 28!

On Weds., June 28, in our retail shop, we'll release a new batch of Sue.

Sue is the wine barrel-aged version of Susan (1891-1975), our grandfather's sister and the namesake of our bright, citrusy Farmstead® IPA. Aged for nearly two years, it has developed and evolved into its current manifestation: a complex, lightly tart and delicately hopped Farmstead® ale.

Updates For The Week Of June 21, 2017

Good week? Big week!

We couldn’t be more excited to announce that we will be joined at our Festival of Farmhouse Ales, August 5, by The White Buffalo! Jake Smith will make his triumphant return to perform for FoFA again, and if you’re not familiar with his amazing music, click over to http://thewhitebuffalo.com. Jake performed here at FoFA in 2013, and we’ve been trying to coordinate with him a return performance ever since—and it’s finally happening!

More good news? You bet!

Beginning Weds., June 21, in our bottle shop during normal retail hours, we'll release a block of tickets for purchase to our August 5th Festival of Farmhouse Ales 2017! A set amount of tickets will be made available each day this week, Weds. through Saturday. Complete information for the event can be found at www.hillfarmstead.com/fofa.

Each ticket is $100 plus Vermont state rooms and meals tax, and each purchase includes a designated driver ticket (see site for details on our designated driver policies). There is a limit of 2 tickets per person. Please note: these tickets are non-transferrable; purchaser name will be written on each ticket and purchaser listed on ticket must match ID at check-in.

Finally, how about a new draft beer? Absolutely!

Making its debut on Weds. in the tasting room will be a brand new IPA: Dharma Bum. With a mountain of Simcoe hops, Dharma Bum, is the sort of beer we love—balanced, soft, hugely aromatic and entirely too drinkable.

Bottle Releases For The Week Of June 14!

On Weds., June 14, we will release both the newest iteration of our Madness & Civilization series, Release #9, and a new batch of Clara!

This batch of Madness & Civilization is composed of Barrel-Aged Everett and Birth of Tragedy, each aged in our favorite bourbon barrels for 2 years, blended with fresh Genealogy, and then conditioned further with coconut and vanilla. After months of bottle conditioning, this beer is now ready for release and enjoyment.

Madness & Civilization is a panorama of our barrel aging program—oak-aged beers that emerge from their individual silences to find structure and voice as a unified composition. This is the result of an unpredictable state of permanent happenstance—a dialogue with our evolving approach to blending that challenges convention and circumstance.

Please visit our bottle release page, http://hillfarmstead.com/bottle-release, for bottle limits and pricing information (credit card and matching ID required, please see our bottle release policy).

Clara is our Farmstead® Grisette, crafted from American malted barley, Vermont organic wheat, European and American hops, our distinctive farmhouse yeast and water from our well. Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Clara.

Retail Update for the Week of June, 6

On Wednesday, June 7, we are pleased to debut the most recent entries in our Civil Disobedience series: 18 and 20.

Civil Disobedience, our nonviolent protest against the homogenization of flavor, comes in the form of a spontaneous, circumstantial and unpredicted series of beer releases.  We relinquish control in favor of an anarchistic collaboration of microbial activity.  This is the expression of our conscience, our opposition to oppression and an act of creative freedom.

Civil Disobedience 18 is a vibrant yet elegant beer woven from various threads, including barrel-aged Dorothy and Arthur from puncheons. Packaged in 750ml bottles, this blend is only available for onsite consumption in our tasting room and will not be available to take home.

Civil Disobedience 20 is dark, delicate and complex blend of Shirley Mae that was fermented in bourbon barrels and our spontaneously fermented collaboration with Cigar City. Packaged in 375ml bottles, this blend will be available for purchase in our bottle shop.

Please check our bottle release page, http://hillfarmstead.com/bottle-release, for bottle limits and pricing information.  (credit card and matching ID required, please see our bottle release policy).

Retail hours are Wednesday - Saturday, 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Bottle Shop for the Week of May 30

On Wednesday, May 31 we release Leaves of Grass: June 7, 2016 (Lilac) in our Bottle Shop.

Leaves of Grass represents our brewery's collective pursuit to create, explore, and challenge.  For each batch, we employ uniquely different processes and ingredients.  This particular batch was brewed with Vermont wildflower honey and lilac flowers foraged from our land.  The beer was aged for an extended period of time in wine barrels and has undergone a prolonged period of bottle conditioning.  Brewed on June 7th, 2016, this beer is now ready for release.

375ml, $12, limit 1 per person (credit card and matching ID required, please see our bottle release policy).

Our Retail Shop is open 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. from Wednesday - Saturday.
