Bottle Release for March 21, 2018

On Wednesday, March 21, we are pleased to release Biere de Norma!

In honor of Shaun's maternal grandmother, we craft this Bière de Mars each February and condition it in oak barrels with our resident microflora, allowing it to develop indefinitely until it is ready for release. This year's release is vintage 2016, aged to allow for its full maturation and expression.

In Shaun's words: Norma (1939 - 2011) was my maternal grandmother, my Guardian Angel, and the woman that nourished the laughter and innocence of my youth. We realize the influence of those closest to us only after having left their presence. At Hill Farmstead, our spirit is forever defined by Norma and the memory of our loved ones.

Please visit our bottle release page,

http://hillfarmstead.com/bottle-release, for bottle limits and pricing information (credit card and matching ID required for this bottle).

We will also offer fresh cans of Simcoe Pale Ale!

Bottle Releases for Weds., March 7, 2018

As the muddy ruts grow, and the snow melts away, it seems a fine time to brighten the world with some special releases. On Wednesday, March 7, we will debut two new beers, as well as two fresh runs of cans!

  • Flora Pear
Flora is the wine barrel-aged version of Florence (1915-1967), our grandfather's sister as well as the name of our Farmstead® wheat ale. We selected several barrels of Flora and aged it atop organic pears, including a selection of dessert pears (Stacey, Summercrisp, Luscious and Nova) as well as Siberian pears—all from Elmore Roots Nursery in nearby Elmore, Vt. Soft, subtle fruit notes and a delicate golden hue marry with Flora's singular elegance to embody and exemplify the elements from which it was crafted.

Please visit our bottle release page, http://hillfarmstead.com/bottle-release, for bottle limits and pricing information (credit card and matching ID required for this bottle).

  • Norma—Elderberry
In Shaun's words: "Norma (1939 - 2011) was my maternal Grandmother, my Guardian Angel, and the woman that nourished the laughter and innocence of my youth. In her honor, we chose a single barrel of "Norma" and conditioned it on elderberries from our next door neighbors at Thornhill Farm. We realize the influence of those closest to us only after having left their presence. At Hill Farmstead, our spirit is forever defined by Norma and the memory of our loved ones."

Please note: Norma—Elderberry will only be available for enjoyment onsite in our tasting room, not for take away.

We will also have two new fresh cans: Legitimacy (IPA) and Mary (German-style Pilsner) available!

See you soon!

Bob

Bottles Releases for Weds., Feb. 28, 2018

On Wednesday, Feb. 28, we will release two new iterations in our Leaves of Grass series!

• Leaves of Grass: March 2, 2017

This entry in the series was brewed nearly a year ago with barley, wheat, oats and both juice and zest of Meyer lemons. It was fermented and aged in wine barrels, then allowed to bottle condition for several months. Inspired by Farmer Wave, this beer was brewed during our Farmer Wave sessions with Matt Dinges of Good Life Provisions as a prototype for future excursions.

• Leaves of Grass: September 18, 2015

Brewed over two years ago and allowed to age in chardonnay wine barrels for 18 months, this was brewed with barley, oats, wheat, honey and Nelson Sauvin hops, then aged on gooseberries and Northern Kiwi Fruit from our friends at Elmore Roots in Elmore, Vermont. This beer and recipe is based upon a 2006 pilot brew version of a New Zealand inspired beer—which, loosely, would become Juicy.

Please visit our bottle release page, http://hillfarmstead.com/bottle-release, for bottle limits and pricing information (credit card and matching ID required for this bottle).

We will also have fresh cans of Citra Single Hop Pale Ale available!

Bottle Release For The Week Of Feb. 21, 2018!

On Weds., Feb. 21, we will release Gin Barrel-Aged Brother Soigné!

What now seems like ages ago, our dear friend Bim Lafontaine traveled from Japan to brew with us the inaugural batch of Brother Soigné, a beautiful collaboration that we continue to produce in the spirit of that visit. A small portion of a subsequent batch was aged in Caledonia Spirits gin barrels for nearly a year and then allowed an extended bottle conditioning. It's now ready to be enjoyed!

Please visit our bottle release page, http://hillfarmstead.com/bottle-release, for bottle limits and pricing information (credit card and matching ID required for this bottle).

We will also release a fresh batch of Society & Solitude #5 in cans!

Check the site for release details.

Cheers! Bob
